Arapaio and Andrew Thomas

This is what I picture when I read the following:

An independent prosecutor has reiterated what federal law-enforcement officials previously concluded: Criminal charges are not justified in several public-corruption investigations conducted by former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas and Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
Over the course of three years, a public-corruption task force created by Thomas and Arpaio opened cases involving county supervisors, judges and other county and state officials, and companies that did business with them.
I hate Phoenix "leadership" and Mayor Phil Gordon, you look like a rat and you are on television too much.  Why don't you do your job instead of attempting to run of a phantom office, that by virtue of your history you will never attain.  F U.

Why educating Women Works- Afghanistan

Women's football in Afghanistan

The Afghan Womens' National Football Team is going from strength to strength.
Ten years ago, it would have unthinkable for the young women to leave their homes, let alone excel in the sport.

Scoring goals not main point of women's soccer match in Afghanistan

Ten years ago, they were assassinating women in soccer arenas.

For Popal, the match with NATO women was about something bigger.
“We wanted to show them that we are friendly,” Popal said. “We have some stupid people that are fighting. By doing this game, we show them we have good people, also. The aim is to show we want peace.”

Where the Medical Marijuana money is going to go....

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors could approve a $10 million contract today to defend Sheriff Joe Arpaio, former County Attorney Andrew Thomas and their employees against legal claims stemming from their investigations into county officials.

Sparky Anderson

Pink is the New Blog Everybody's Business Is My Business: "Sad news to pass along to baseball fans today … the iconic Detroit Tigers manager George Lee Sparky Anderson passed away today in his home in Thousand Oaks, CA at the age of 76. Yesterday his family revealed that Sparky was receiving hospice care due to his advancing dementia and, very sadly, he died today. It’s impossible to convey how important Sparky Anderson is to Detroit and baseball fans as a whole. We are all poorer for his loss today."

I was forced to listen to Tiger baseball for 16 years going to and from my cabin in Tawas from Flint. Although I hate baseball, I still love Gibby and Sparky, 1984 and 1985 World Series Detroit Tigers.

Go Tigers!

Arpaio is a crook

Federal prosecutors deputized to investigate finances of Arpaio's office: "The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors deputized six federal prosecutors to investigate allegations of financial wrongdoing it lodged against the Sheriff's Office and vowed to redouble its own efforts to determine the extent of potential misspending of restricted jail funds by sheriff's officials.
County budget officials briefed the board Monday on the recent discovery of a duplicate sheriff's payroll log and database held in a secure computer system that recorded a separate set of job assignments within the Sheriff's Office. They maintain the Sheriff's Office may have misspent up to $16 million a year in restricted jail funds. They have asked sheriff's officials to cooperate with them to determine how far back the problem might stretch."

Do you smell what the Rock is cookin? The smell of sweet justice. Ok, maybe I am just smelling is fat ass frying on the grill but it is worth the price of the buffet.
